Join us aboard the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway, a heritage railway running between Welshpool and Llanfair Caereinion.

We will catch the 1000 train from Llanfair Caereinion to Welshpool. On arrival into Welshpool we will commence a 6.5-mile walk to the summit of Y Golfa (341m). We will return on the 1415 train, alighting at Cyfronydd Station. We will then walk a further 3-miles back to our start point of Llanfair Caereinion (see linked walk for full details).

From the window you might spot the occasional heron, goosander, woodpecker or buzzard. The train runs through the Powis Estate where pheasant and deer can be seen and a wide variety of wild flowers. The line follows a river valley, twists round a mill and runs through the middle of farms. GLTW website. 

Parking 🅿️ - Free car parking at Llanfair Caereinion.

Toilets 🚾 - Free toilets at Llanfair Caereinion Station and Welshpool Raven Square Station. 

Cost 💷 - Return £27. Returns can be purchased online or at the ticket office. You will purchase these individually (a week before the event I will issue confirmation for individuals to purchase their tickets).

Lunch 🧺 - Bring sufficient food and drink for a full day out (refreshments can be purchased at both stations).
