September 2026 may seem a bit far away and with Christmas looming you are perhaps not thinking about the Autumn Weekend away. However, we have come up with a stunning location for this outing and we have reserved accommodation in the beautiful town of Dumfries. The area itself is full of interesting historical architecture, is surrounded by natural beauty and there will be a variety of walks for all of us to participate in, with easy access to the Galloway Hills and much, much more. MORE ABOUT THE TOWN:
Some of you may know the area but for those who don't (yet!), Dumfries is a historic market town which has been a Royal Burgh since 1186, is located on the River Nith and is known as the "Queen of the South." Our National Bard, Robert Burns, was a resident here and you may take time to visit his house and museum and for those interested in visiting the local pub, its recommended that you visit 'The Globe Inn', which was established in 1610 and was where Burns himself spent 'mony a nicht' eating, drinking and singing in his favourite 'howff'.
