TitleGuided tour of Arundel Town - (Arun & Adur Group only)
OrganiserStuart C.
Description

A free guided tour of Arundel on a Friday evening in which some of the history of the town will be explored.

As some of the group are aware, I volunteer in Arundel Museum and over the course of this year have been immersing myself in its history to enable me to lead tours for groups of museum visitors. Having now successfully led a number of these, I would like to offer a free tour to any regular walkers with the Arun and Adur Ramblers group.

I'm planning that the tour will take around 1hr15mins - Ihr30mins. It will be at a very leisurely pace with frequent stops whilst I natter on about things. The idea is that at the end of the tour we could all visit a local venue for coffees, a drink, pizza etc. I have a couple of places in mind, either Fauna Brewery opposite the Cathedral, or the The Burger Shop by the town war memorial. Both have outdoor spaces that could easily accommodate a large group of us. I'll sort out which one nearer the time when numbers are known

So, if you're up for a walk and talk followed by some good fellowship afterwards, please let me know by email or my private WhatsApp. I will need a fairly definite idea of numbers beforehand.

I'm hoping that this will be a popular event and it's for that reason that this invitation is only for those regular walkers with the Arun and Adur group.

LocationMeet outside Arundel museum at 6.00pm. Mill road carpark is free after 6.00pm and Mill road itself will have some spaces available at this time. If coming by train Arundel railway station is a 15minute walk from the meeting point. Take the path into town that starts at the immediate back of the Castle Cabs taxi office in the station forecourt. Head into town and after crossing the bridge turn left and the museum is opposite the Castle entrance.
